About us: The Department of Structural Biology within Protein Sciences is a world-leading research and drug discovery organization focusing on cutting-edge biomedical questions. We are fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM) suite with two Titan Krios and two Glacios electron microscopes, among other tools essential for successful structural biology workflows. The opportunity: We are seeking a motivated scientist interested in using structural biology to understand the molecular mechanisms of large macromolecular complexes involved in DNA repair processes. The role involves protein purification, reconstitution, and structure determination of DNA-protein complexes using cryoEM. Additionally, you will help to develop functional biochemical assays to assess and determine the mechanism of action of various multi-subunit protein complexes. You will be highly encouraged to think deeply about the biological problem, make significant intellectual contributions to the chosen research project, and work closely with other team members.
