Pizza Maker Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced pizza maker to fill a vacant spot in our kitchen staff and contribute to the overall excellence of our restaurant.
The person we are hoping to employ is first and foremost a skilled and organized. We are looking for someone to work as a team player, follow instructions, and help us delight our customers with delicious food from our menu. In addition to cooking prowess, great communication and organizational skills are paramount.
A good candidate for this job is a person with attention to detail who can keep the kitchen tidy and clean all while preparing, cooking, and arranging food together with the rest of our kitchen staff. We pride ourselves in our exceptional service, and we expect nothing less from our cooks. The advantage goes to candidates with a diploma from a culinary school.
Responsibilities:
● Maintaining a sanitized and well-organized kitchen.
● Preparing workstations for cooking.
● Preparing and maintaining kitchen equipment.
● Checking the quality of the ingredients.
● Manage food storage, stock, and ingredient orders.
Requirements:
● Prior experience as a pizza maker recommended but not required.
● Must be skilled in operating kitchen equipment.
● Must know and follow sanitation procedures.
● Must showcase teamwork and communication skills.
● Must showcase great organizational skills.
● Must be able to multitask and act quickly.

For more than 50 years, the Vitale family has been serving West Michigan with the finest pizza and Italian food. Vitale’s began when Salvatore Vitale immigrated from Sicily to Grand Rapids. In 1966 Sam opened Vitale’s located on Leonard Street NE. Sam used the same time-tested recipes brought over from the old country. Since then, two of Sam’s children, Agostino and Maria, have opened their own Vitale’s restaurants. Agostino and Kerri Vitale own the Comstock Park location, and Ryan and Maria Snyder own the Zeeland location. Ryan and Maria started their pizza business as a take out in 1991, and have recently expanded their business to their current location. What once was a small takeout pizza business has now become a full service restaurant. With an extensive menu that includes salads, burgers, subs, pasta, and of course our award winning pizza, it won't take you long to realize there is something for everyone at Vitale's! Our diverse list of comforting entrees is just one of the reasons our customers keep coming back.
