Make an Impact

In this role, you’ll own the radiographic process—from equipment standardization to final disposition—ensuring flaws, cracks, foreign material, and process deviations are found before they fly.

Core Responsibilities

• Set up and standardize X-ray equipment; process components and films with discipline and consistency.
• Interpret radiographs, determine acceptance or rejection, and document results with traceable accuracy.
• Perform system performance checks and calibrations per internal standards and customer requirements.
• Create clear work instructions from approved procedures (with final approval by X-ray Level III).
• Coach and support Level I technicians and trainees to build a stronger team.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of codes, standards, and contractual controls governing radiography.
• Present findings to leadership; respond to technical questions and audits.
• Use applied math daily—percentages, proportions, area, circumference, and fundamentals of algebra/geometry.
• Tackle practical problems where limited standardization exists; read and act on written, verbal, diagram, and schedule instructions.

Qualifications You’ll Need

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 4 years’ experience as a certified Level II film radiography inspector.
• Current or previous X-ray film Level II certification in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or AIA/NAS-410.
• Pass Howmet’s certification exams with a composite 80% or higher (renewable every five years) and provide documentation of certification status.
