Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk / Accountant to support our construction operations. This role is essential in processing vendor invoices, managing payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting smooth financial operations across multiple teams. Familiarity with Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely, accurate payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized accounts payable records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
Verify subcontractor compliance documents such as insurance certificates, bonds, and lien waivers/releases.
Assist in tracking subcontract agreements and compliance files.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and project accounting.
Support month-end close by reconciling AP sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
Assist with cash flow planning and weekly payment forecasts.
Communicate effectively with vendors, internal teams, and management to resolve payment issues.
Maintain compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and industry regulations.
Qualifications Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in Accounts Payable within construction or related industries.
Strong understanding of GAAP and construction accounting practices.
Proficiency in Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) strongly preferred.
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and general computer proficiency.
Highly organized, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Strong math, accounting, and communication skills.
